Let's Tweet to Relate: 1000 Twitter Stories--First Offline Twitter Conference to be Held Simultaneously in Four Major Cities in Japan, Spring 2010--

Traditionally, our specialty has always been refining and perfecting whatever imported. Automobile for one thing, and now, Twitter is another!

To be honest, we are not yet sure why Twitter is becoming a social phenomenon in Japan. At least, we all feel lucky to have kanji, or chinese characters, in our writing system. Compare to people Tweeting with European alphabets, we are advantageous to be able to include more information within 140 letters by using kanji, for each character has multiple meanings.

And perhaps what Twitter is providing reminds us of our ancestral community atmosphere, which we somewhat feel diminishing nowadays. Or maybe we simply are fans of whatever is American.

No matter what the reason is, without doubt, people already have joined the Twitter community are fallen in love with the world of 140 letters, and many more people are coming in at this very moment.

We have been compiling "Twitter stories" to explore how Twitter is utilized by people of various social groups such as business people, workers, managements, entrepreneurs, homemakers, students, and companies, and many others, at an outset, with a goal of gathering 1000 stories. Round midnight of May 28, 2010, 1000th story is posted and the goal was achieved.

On April 24, we are planning to hold our first Offline Twitter Conference. There are some similar events of various sizes which have been held in Japan and many places in the world. But we believe, this is the first offline Twitter event to be held simultaneously in multiple places.

We will get together to meet new people, share our stories, and explore how we best utilize Twitter for personal setting, and, of course, for business purposes.

Undoubtedly, people to be preset at the site, and people who may not be able to attend as well, will tweet happily during the event. But that's not all. We will live broadcast the event through Ustream!

So wherever you may be on the globe, or even if you are up in the space as long as you are online, join us with your PC, iPhone, iPad (should be available by then), android, or any other devices that let you tweet or view Ustream Broadcast.
